A little more than three months since a devastating incident at the top of Creekside Golf Course in Lavalette, there is new life.
Last December, the course was hit with a triple bogey when its club house caught fire. The massive flames leveled the building, which included a restaurant.
Now, the first day of golf season is here.
Not everything is back to normal, with the clubhouse void still yet to be filled, but things are moving along fast. Course officials say they hope to have the clubhouse back up and running by the end of the summer. For now, some accommodations have been made.
“We have done a lot of stuff to make it workable. Without the new clubhouse, we have a pavilion down there with tables and chairs, a food truck to feed people, and excited. We think we’re going to have some golf today, and especially through the weekend — just excited to get back going, it has been three months, and see how things are going to go”
When the clubhouse is restored, Creekside Golf Course will be the ultimate come from behind story.
